Notes: |
- I wanted to use Kent Goldings hops for bittering, but the local
homebrew shop didn't have any, so I ended up using Styrian Goldings.
- Primed for bottling with 1 1/8 cup of extra light DME boiled
in 8 oz. water.
- Carbonation took a while, but it finally came through after
two weeks in the bottle.
- Tasting notes (8/18): A bit too malty and chewy
for style (attenuation was on the low side), with a bit of a caramelized
flavor from the stovetop (yeah, yeah, yeah... I know...), but
quite nice on the whole. Smooth, with a balanced hop bitterness.
Perhaps a wee bit heavy on the hop flavor, though.
Aroma is pungent.
- Tasting notes (8/24): Oh yeah, this is good.
Don't let my previous notes fool you... this is a very tasty beer!
It's more balanced now after a little more aging.
Smooooooooooth drinkin'. Only 24 bottles left!
